A BLADE TO CONSIDER 2006

Hello EVERYONE! We are currently in need of 75 bladers or cyclists to join us for a fun day in Edmonton's river valley on Saturday, July 15th! With various route distances, lunch break, rest stops, and diverse forms of entertainment, this is a 'Summer-Fun' event aimed towards raising money for local Edmonton youth! The finish line is the climax; a barbeque by donation, several summer events, and entertainment for the whole family (local musicians, mascots, comedians, breakdancers, etc.).

*In order to raise our $50,000 goal, we need your help; please see the information below on how you can get involved!! Online participant and volunteer applications are linked above!

PARTICIPATE

For anyone who likes the outdoors! You don't have to be a pro; youth are the coolest part of this event! We are welcoming anyone who wants to particpate and raise money for a good cause. The real challenge is to see who can raise the most money for these foundations!! Concordia University College of Alberta was a primary supporter of the cause in 2005 by providing a $5,000 tuition rebate reward for the roller blade participant who raised the most money! We are looking for over 100 applicants for 2006, so be sure to apply early to guarantee your spot. We are still accepting applications, please fill in the application form linked above!

An overview of Edmonton's 2005 river valley trail map can be seen here.

VOLUNTEER

Lots of fun! We are always looking for more volunteers for the day of the event. We are looking for registration volunteers, route marshalls, first aiders/CPR, rest stop crews, barbeque volunteers, and people to help with set-up/take-down at the Alberta Legislature Grounds. There is no registration fee for volunteers, and you will receive snacks, a lunch, and a dinner barbeque for your efforts! Please fill in the application form linked above..

COMMITEE MEMBER

We are looking for dedicated leaders with a passion to help youth. If you would like to be more involved in the planning of the event, we would appreciate your help. Coordinating participants, volunteers, lunch breaks, sponsorship, and the planning the route are some examples of areas we could use your assistance!

If you would like to be slightly more involved in planning the event for the weeks OR months leading up to the event, please contact Christopher Ducharme.
