Pat was born and raised in eastern Canada. Growing up in a large military family, and moving regularly, taught Pat some skills at an early age such as coping with change, comfort zones, problem-solving and so on. Pat moved to western Canada in the early 70's, for about 6 months, to "check it out". Some 33 years later, Pat has returned to eastern Canada.

Education and training has been in the areas of Human Resources, Training, Change Management, Marketing and Sales.

Work Experience has ranged from Human Resources to Marketing and Sales, to Training and Development. Pat's work history has typically seen her involved in the development of new HR operations in a variety of industries such as municipal government, health care, insurance and manufacturing. Most recently, Pat worked at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton as Manager of Customized Business/SoftSkills and Hospitality training, as well as having managed the International Division for a few years.

Community Involvement - Pat has a strong belief in, and a passion for, giving back to the community. She has been an active volunteer and Board Member for the past 30 years with organizations such as The United Way (Peterborough and Edmonton), Alberta Call Center Association and the Alzheimer Society (both Provincially in Alberta, and nationally). In Alberta, Pat led the 5-year initiative for a merge of all Societies into one organization... now known as the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.

Family - Pat is very much a family person and takes great joy in her role as grand-mother to Heather (8 years old), Brian (6 years old) and Kalen (7 years old).

When Pat got married in the early '80s, she was an instant mother to Kevin and Kristy. "Back then", there was no Dr. Phil to help with the blended family experience. Over a 25-year period, Pat has developed a strong and loving relationship with both Kevin and Kristy, and their respective spouses. Part of her passion is to share her tools and techniques with other blended families to assist with this ever-challenging and ever-growing family experience.

Personal - At any given time, you can find Pat reading biographies or self-help books, going to movies, or learning some new outdoor activity. Pat loves to bike, walk, x-country ski, roller blade, or to just be outside around a fire pit.

Publications - Pat's first book was released in July 2007: "Who Am I Now?" - which provides some insights, tools and techniques for dealing with life after divorce, the "empty nest" syndrome, loss of a spouse, life after retirement, etc. She has developed a workshop to go along with the book. She is also a contributing author to "Leadership Gurus Speak Out" (released January 2008), and is working on her own second book, "Where Am I Now? - the story of Pat's Travels Around the World in a Private Plane" (available Summer 2008).

Adventure is the name of the game at this stage in life. Pat has completed a cycling tour of Tuscany, took a world tour (http://www.privatejettours.ca) on a private plane in November 2006, and in November 2007. All this, and more, will contribute to her stories, presentations and future books!
